Our very own wise and wonderful Sister Wendy is off to Kenya this weekend to begin a new posting.  Africa will be all the richer for her presense.  Best wishes, Wendy.  May your work there be rewarding, and may you see the fruits of your service blossom around you.  May you make many new friends, ("converting" as many as possible to the beauty of Suzanne and her music Wink ) May you have terrific adventures, see loads of wild creatures in their wild lands, and may this sojourn be a soul-soothing experience for you.  Be safe, be well and be happy.  Loads of love,  Ra

    Hi  Ra,

I do hope she will be safe in Kenya -the recent events there were quite worrying! She told me about her visit some weeks ago, so I knew that, and that time the situation was not rosy there at all... But I am sure she will have great time there, and can help there a lot!

    Have a nice weekend!

    best wishes, Zoli

    All my bags are packed

    I’m ready to go!!

Thanks for the well wishes and for the kind concern for my safety. I trust that I will be in God’s loving hands and kept from danger. Though I leave loved ones and the familiar with sadness, goodbyes have become part of my missionary life. The good thing about goodbyes though is that there is hope for a better hello! It is heartening to know that there is a community (my “recreational” / “chilling out” community) here who cares. Besides the Bible in my bag, is another bible – “The Passionate Eye” which I intend to re-read, ponder, and contemplate upon from time to time while in Kenya. Thanks to a kind and generous benefactor who gifted me with an ipod, I’m also able to take with me a whole library’s worth of music including of course all SV’s albums!

    So goodbye

    sweet Undertow

    I’ll stay in touch

    Please pray for me…

    Wendy

Wishing you all the best for your time in Kenya, Wendy.  I'll be thinking of you and hoping that everything goes well for you.  You must take care during these difficult times.

I cannot find the other thread where Wendy replied saying she was fine all in all....

I just wanted to say I'm glad to hear it, and hope things get much better soon in Kenya ! Best wishes Wendy!

Thank you all for caring! Unfortunately there is still no settlement yet between the political parties over here. If anyone’s interested to see some photos and read some of my experiences thus far in Kenya, you can drop by at http://chilliandlime.blogspot.com

I also want to add that while transitions can be difficult, it certainly helps to have a guitar for a companion, even more so my treasured Suzanne Vega autographed guitar! Smile

    Blessings, Wendy

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for the great writing in your 'diary' ! The pics are also nice, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear things are a bit better, and 'calmer' in Kenya. (I will send the link to your recent blog writing to my friends).

yesterday violence was in Belgrade against Embassies. In the street, Magyar Nemzet paper's cameraman was beaten by radical Serbs there-he could finally escape somehow to avoid the worse...

     best wishes, Zoli

All the best to you Wendy from over here in Germany. I greatly admire your faith and your work! I will keep reading your blog with great interest. With your "two" bibles beside you and our thoughts in your company, I hope you will never feel alone.

    Yours, Andi

Wendy,  I am SOOOO happy to see these posts and know you are holding your own through the turmoil in Kenya.  Seems there are a couple of Towies in "hot-spots" right now.  My heart aches over how common  violence is in our world.  I think I'm a bit tender right now because a youngster was just murdered in a local school here -  seems his classmate chose murder as his method of dealing with a boy in make-up.  It is so sad for everyone left behind -- both families, friends, etc.  And sad that our kids are so saturated in violence that killing is an option in their thinking process.

Peace through justice ( and less violent media to desensitize our youth)  Ra
