Wow! Last night Suzanne returned to Toronto for the first time in 11 years and played to a good-sized, warm and loving crowd at The Mod Club. She looked terrific, sounded fantastic and the band were really great too! (Alison Cornell is a nice touch on keys, violin and backing vocals; she's great) The whole band was fabulous.
The sound was terrific and Suzanne played a 95 minute set: Here's what she played:
Tom's Diner (acapella version)
Marlena On The Wall
Ludlow Street
New York Is a Woman
Caramel
Frank And Ava
Gypsy
I'll Never Be Your Maggie May
Left Of Center
Blood Makes Noise
Bound
Zephyr And I
Pornographer's Dream
Some Journey
In Liverpool
Luka
Tom' Diner (full band version)

Anniversary

After the show, some of the fans hung out and got to meet Suzanne about 30 minutes later up at the end of the bar near the stage.
She was wonderful with us. She signed lots of cool stuff (Will, who it was a real pleasure to meet, had some European versions of CD's with extra songs on them and a sealed CD in a long box of Days Of Open Hand which Suzanne signed for him).
It was a thrill and a pleasure to meet Suzanne (and to meet Will who is well known here and a wonderful guy; also Marco, who I took the streetcar home with while we chatted about Suzanne and the show, and some of the other fans who are a very nice, cool bunch of people)
A spendid time was had by all!
This goes down as one of my fave shows this year and to have it in an intimate setting like The Mod Club was the icing on the cake.
Thank you Suzanne for being so gracious with us after the show and for your wonderful performance.
Hat's off to the great band!
(Suzanne appeared only 8 hours later (!!) on our morning show in Toronto "Canada AM" where she performed "Frank And Ava". If she was tired, you wouldn't have known it. Great performance again!)
I was tired so the band had to be!
A terrific evening all around and a memory I'll cherish.
Thanks again Suzanne!
(Nice to meet you Will!)
