    Hi again!

I'm not sure if this is a request for help or a suggestion but.... as Zoli was saying somewhere else, along with the email notification of messages it would be great to have a direct link not only to the thread where the message was posted, but to the message itself, to send a quick reply or something .... though we still have to log in first, I know...
Could it work like this? :  I receive an email notification of message X on thread Y . I click on the link provided there and get to a page where I log in and am then re-directed to that message X on thread Y, so I can reply to it straightaway (instead of looking for it through the thread). That would make things easier, I think. Is it possible?

Also....how do I actually quote another message?? I tried the  "Quote"  button but it doesn't add anything to  the text in my message to actually quote...is it just me (my browser? My  OS? My ....mouse? Wink )? I'm on windows Xp - Firefox 2.0.0.3, by the way.

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help.

    Miki

EDIT: sorry again, I've just tried on a different thread/message and the "quote" button works.....so, it didn't work only in the New Site Launch thread, I don't know why. Thanks anyway.

    hi nicole,

i have a question for you: it seems i am not receiving emails of my own posts. i don't see a box to check for that purpose. is this something you're not contemplating to have available for the towies or am i missing something? speaking for myself, i like to keep track of my own  words through email, so i can see just where i contributed to the flow of each thread.

    all the best, fátima

I've posted this in a couple other threads, but I want to make sure you see this.

As of right now, you will not receive e-mails for the posts that you make, only the posts of others.

We are looking into this to see if we can add it as a feature for you.

Hi Nicole, I've managed to successfully change my email but am still receiving undertow posts in my old email, which is supposedly no longer in the site's database. Sad

Same here Wendy - for some reason a change of email address isn't being picked up by the email notification program, and resubmitting the subscriptions page doesn't reset it to the new address.

    Hey Wendy and Chris,

Can you please PM me with your current e-mail address and what you'd like to change it to? I'll have one of our amazing tech guys sort it out.

    Cheers,

    Nicole

What software drives the board?  I would like to bone up on the features/settings.  Like what is "ink".  And is there a reply via email function available.

These boards do not allow for replying by e-mail. You need to use the link in your e-mail notification to return to the thread and post. This way you can use the features in your posting!

Do you need any assistance with a particular feature or setting?

The point of having posts emailed is to be able to keep a record of interesting and informative conversations. This board works fine for that purpose, unless you participate in a discussion, because your own posts are not emailed to you, thus forcing you to either register a second account for posting from or find some way to keep track of where on the site posts of particular interest are so you can revisit them.

The point of posting by email is convenience. Why have posts emailed when you have to visit the site to add your own thoughts? And the link in the post you want to reply to doesn't even take you to that post, so you have to track it down if replying to that specific post makes a difference to you, as it seems it does to the board.

Am I whining? I'll stop now and see if I can figure out how to unregister myself. I'll just have to get my Suzanne Vega news another way.

It does not look as though it is possible to remove myself. Perhaps whoever maintains this site would be so kind as to remove me.
