    Re: Suzanne's most "important" songs

Ask 1,000 fans and you'll get 1,000 different answers...

    1)Luka
Definitely career-wise, this is the one. It's the only one I can sing at any of the local karaoke bars (which is a crying shame!!!!!!!)

    2)As Girls Go
For intensely personal reasons, this song has always had a direct path to my soul... This song just speaks to me so directly that there's nothing else I can really say about it.

    3)Gypsy
I cry almost every time I sing along with this song in the car... It's not that it makes me sad, exactly. I just feel so much what the song is about (to me, at least).

    4) The Queen and the Soldier
Wow... I just don't know what else to say about this song than wow.

    5) Calypso and every other song
I love Calypso. I just absolutely adore that song. And everything else on top of that.

Suzanne Vega is one of the most spectacular songwriters of the 20th-21st century. I don't know if she would find this flattering or not, but in my mind, she's equal to Paul Simon and Prince. Just incredible performers and songwriters. I will stop there, because I just can't express how much her music means to me.
