Yesterday I watched DVD movie Knockin' on Heaven's Door (1997) (have no idea how could I have skipped this movie ten years ago). Nice movie. Made me to recall this famous tune of Bob Dylan. I took my guitar, played the tune. Then took the G'n'R DVD, listened to their version. Looked at internet. Found the story of other covers. Then followed the story of Warren Zevon's The Wind which he recordered in 2003 being very well aware that he will die soon. I was shocked that he played that song. On youtube I watched his ill but brave appearance at Dave Letterman show. I downloaded the song, listened to his shaking voice. On Warren's site I studied every his photo and watched that sorrowful transition from young and bold to old and feeble. It made me sick even more.
Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan. One song with just few verses. But so much meaning, so many lives...
