Last sunday I heard "Penitent" in a supermarket in the central station. It was a real shock... I always think that Suzanne's music deserves better than to be played in an all-day-open low-cost supermarket. Nothing much (not much) Moni.

Hm - why should only crap be played in supermarkets? Sure, Suzanne deserves to be really listened to and yet I think it can't do much harm that her music is played in supermarkets - her music also deserves more attention, so why not? Cheers, Annika

I walked into a mall today during lunch time and .... for the first time I can recall in public, I heard LOC being played in the common areas. This in a place that had posters for Auqamarine up a couple of months ago. Uncwilly (the 1.99899 handed wonder) Song of the moment: We're in the Money, Rosemary Clooney

Any place is a good place when Suzanne's music brightens it up. She is my tonic for reflection and happiness through music.

Last time i listened by chance Suzanne was in a recent anime video with a a very techno version of Tom's Dinner. Quite a good one, they twist the tone of the sound making it much stronger and dramatic. Everytime we meet someone new, they ask us what kind of music we like.So when i had the welcome party for exchange students here in korea, i would answer "Suzanne Vega". then, i was compulsed to complete by saying "Tom's Dinner?you dont know?". then "tututuru..." . - "Oh!That wan!Grete singger" still never heard Suzanne in Supermarket, Moni and Annika. I like to shop fast, i think if the music would sound in there i'd be like not knowing what to buy and get disoriented.
- Are you serious? - Yes, i am. I'm your guardian angel. - Amazing!I've never believed in that.Am i dead? - No. You're just hallucinating.

Oooh....I forgot! When Suzanne played in Portsmouth, NH, in August—they were playing the DNA version of "Tom's Diner" in a Sketchers (shoe store) in Maine. There were about 15 people in there at the time—I caught 3 of them singing along and 2 others keeping time with the music! This was Sunday, the day after the concert. I agree Paulo, I shop fast, too, and they had the sound up pretty high. I bought a pair of shoes I wasn't sure I liked. I was still in 'concert head' mode, between that and taking in what everyone else was doing they made a sale that they otherwise might not have! xx/Catherine (who has yet to look at the shoes since returning)

Couple of days ago I heard "Tom's Diner" DNA at a gas station in Ankara. The workers were dancing in circle, and the customers were clapping with the rhythm. *Well, this second part was a lie, but wouldn't it be nice? luv; Zeynep

I heard "Tom's Diner" DNA recently at my work. I was mildly surprised ... I hear 'Luka' way, way too often. Someone, somewhere decided that it was a song that is excellently suited as muzak at work. And if there's no thought behind the choice it seems .... rude, somehow, to play it that often.

Miki and j.c.!Guess what? Not TV, but in my workplace they've rigged up some satellite thingy and now I'm listening to all kinds of music—bringing back memories. My absolute favorite: I've heard Suzanne's "Tom's Diner" at least 6 times so far in the past 3 days! Working as a PT Wine Associate (no comments from the crowd who knows me), and I've heard customers singing the 'da da da da da da da da...' as I sing the praises of wine (and all of it's virtues).Truth be told: each time the song comes on, I grab a ladder, climb up next to the speakers—and pretend that I'm getting bottles out of a case. Really? I'm singing along, too!Could I be happier? Well, holding the new CD in my hands, that might be a rival. Hope you are both OK and doing well in your lives.Love, Catherine

Hey Catherine of the threads, I'm still catching up with the Tow, and saw your answer now. Singing praises of wine? No, I won't comment on that... well maybe... no, no, I must be strong Well, to keep on innocent ground, I just say that the TV show Scrubs became my most recent source of new music. I've discovered several artists thanks to Zach Braff and their team. Listening to someone "singing" Suzanne there just felt right. (I can add the soundtracks of "Garden State" and "The Last Kiss", wonderful) j.c.

Oh, j.c., we never stood on ceremony, why start now? I'm still working my way (not well) around the new Tow, myself. For whatever reasons, I still cannot get my posts to come out as I've written them (separated paragraphs). What am I doing wrong? Everyone else's look fine...mine are messy, I don't like 'messy.'
