suzanne, just saw your last entry. what a cool picture. and the detail of the woman in the front who threw you off is hilarious and the way you solved it too. Wink how i missed the way you convey things like this.

all the best for the two shows that remain and a safe journey home.

    love, fátima

Just love the latest set of pictures Suzanne - what a great little picture-diary of 'a day in the life', with & without makeup, phoning home, on the bus, on stage, end of the day - and nice to see the website girls too!! ... did you add to the wall decoration? (I guess scribbles from everyone else who's played there too?).

Ok guys, so remember - no harmony singing in the front row in future! Wink

And yes, safe journey home and enjoy your short break.

    Helen

    Hi Suzanne,

thanks for figuring out all the technique! And thank you for taking all this time to stay in contact with us.
I love to see the pictures and to hear from you - it is wonderful to be with you this way, especially because I can be sure you want to be with us this way!
But I am a little confused with this singing harmony problem! I really don't think I can keep me from singing nor from wanting to be in the front row! So I hope you will be okay with it in Berlin and Hamburg then.
... But I can remember moments when you took my singing as kind of a support and everything was fine, so I can probably stop worrying!

Have a good time at home.
    Love
    Tanja

I followed Suzanne's advice and checked with Steve Earle’s latest CD. It's a solid work, it may be the best in a row of his entire collection of albums. It is further away from pure country and blues. Some say this is an alternative country, I don't know. It gives some quite interesting tunes and senses. Come Home To Me, Way Down In The Hole, Satellite Radio, traditional Red Is The Color. Nice artistic work. Suzanne, you are bringing us to new horizons! Wink

Thanks Suzanne for the interesting post.

It is so true that being ‘keyed into a larger vision’ or part of something bigger is so important.  I have recently read and been inspired by the story of William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade in Britain 200 years ago.  It took many years of struggle against what was sometimes fierce opposition – I certainly don’t know I that could or would have persisted under such circumstances but they did, inspired by a larger vision beyond and bigger than themselves.  Don’t know that much about Mother Teresa’s story but I am sure it is similarly inspiring.

I have to say this also made me think of ‘unbound’, in that the plant cannot grow without being rooted in something outside itself, the ground.  I do love this song and would love to hear more about its origins and ‘roots’ sometime, London concert perhaps?

    Safe journey to Europe!

    Helen.

    Steve Earle's music's really great!

I enjoy "The Revolution Starts Now" in particular. I've got to check the new cd immediately!

Suzanne recently wrote on the blog: '...so she has been replaced by Laila Biali, a 24 year old Canadian woman.'  Suzanne,  I did as You suggested about Google, and she seems quite interesting and nice!  I am curious to listen to her playing in Warsaw. I'm sure the concert will be great!!

Just a little correction about Laila Biali's age... I guess she is 27, so not 24:)  I don't have 'direct' info, it's just that I found that in a 2007 interview where it's mentioned...after the Google search, as You suggested! Anyway, Suzanne, I just love the Chicago backstage photos, it seems You all had great fun! As for dessert, I see noboby in the gang is on a diet:) Thanks for sharing the nice pics! And Suzanne, I'm curious to know which fashion magazine Your photos will be published! Just tell, I will buy it for sure:)

Looking forward to the Warsaw gig and the meeting!

    best wishes, Zoli

... and, moreover, she wrote that Joe Jackson might play the solo in Left of Center...!!!! Well, that would be *really* extraordinary cool! The lucky ones who are at the concert in Berlin today...!

We are all waiting for your reviews!

    *sigh*

    Nothing much (not much)

Yes, Moni I agree, it would be great!! But don't forget, he will need to get Mike's approval as well,  it's not that easy... But I suspect, it will work:)

    best wishes, Zoli

"It's not just her face, which is gorgeous. It's that she's attractive in a much fuller way than that". It is about Greta Garbor. And Suzanne as well.
When I look at the bathroom photo at New Hampshire hotel I hear Solitude Standing tunes. I love this photo.

I wonder if that was Goran Bregoviç and his band. I saw him and his band in Ankara on the 29th of September, and they were really fun to watch, I really love his Balkan melodies (He's from Bosnia and Herzegovina if I'm not mistaken) By the way he has also made the music of many Emir Kusturica films, Arizona Dream, Underground etc.

But of course I'd have preferred to see Ms.Vega instead.:)

suzanne, you and the band pulled it off: what a great live version of "unbound". every main layer of the studio version is there but with that special groove and spirit of being delivered live. i think playing this song live was essential and you've done it so well. congrats to all and many thanks to mark for making this little movie.

    much love, fátima
