I'm sorry if this offends but this album is just terrible.  It sounds like an amateur attempt by someone other than Suzanne Vega.  It's as if this person listened to all of Vega's albums and then tried to write an album as Suzanne Vega would.  The melodies are sophomoric.  They go up and down and sideways as if there is no direction, no effort to create something unique.  Think of the tension of a song like Queen and Soldier.  Think of the sweetness and beauty of Gypsy.  What about the incredible sexiness of Cinnamon.  Might sound nostalgic, but actually I think Suzanne needs to do something completely new.  Great artists surprise themselves.  They try not to sound safe or familiar.  I'm not saying she should sound like the old days.  I'm saying she's not looking forward.

FYI: There is no song named Cinnamon.

    "Terrible"?

Your jewel cover came with the wrong disc. Unbelievable. The song is "Caramel".

Hmmmmmm…nikonbmsn, could your real name be KABIR, perhaps?  Just like his 3 relatively recent reviews on Amazon, your ‘criticisms’ show no evidence of actually having listened to the album.  Your ‘review’ title is as off-the-bat insulting as the titles of KABIR’s reviews on Amazon.  In fact, some of your language is much the same.  And, like the KABIR I know, a transparently fake and insincere warm closing is what we are left with.  .01% chance that I’m wrong, but you should grow up, get a life, and stop trying to get back at your ex when, in fact, everything that went wrong was pretty much YOUR fault, anyway.  LOSER.

Let's see if I understand this. A repeat offender with a huge chip on their shoulder comes into SV's official fan site to get the attention of an "Ex" by being both insulting and ignorant at our expense? Is that right?  That kind of  obssessive "baiting" is amazingly childish and sick.

Attention whoever. Seek help immediately before you worsen.

It actually wouldn't be the first time, huntre, because I know for a *fact* that he did it before.  In a previous incarnation of the Undertow, he wrote in once insulting Suzanne's singing abilities - he then showed me what he posted as well as the responses he got.  This would have been circa 2002.  It created a huge uproar on the tow then.  I guess he really needs attention now.  I would say that we should go to buckleyesque.com (Kabir's web page for Jeff Buckley) and flood it with insults against Jeff Buckley, but we Vegaphiles are too good for that.

    Hi Anonymous,

what You think about B&C could be the effect of a first-and-superficial listening of an Album, it happened to me sometime, too. I suggest an accurate hearing. Maybe, than, behind the apparent "marketability", You will find a great Suzanne Vega, again. Cheers, Ivangion.
