Hello all, this is my first post, as a matter of fact, this are my first minutes here.

My name is Alfredo (not Luka ), from Madrid, Spain. I do like Suzanne´s Vega songs from the first time i heard her, and i have always wonder what she wanted to say with her songs. Of course english is not my mother language, so for me it is even more difficult to find out what is the "meaning" of the song.

but today, while i was looking at the post related to the songs, i realized that for me, each song is related to my own life. What do i mean with this?
Well, what i am trying to say is that when i am listening to the song, my mind flies free and all i am listen to, becomes part of my life. Things that happened in the past become again present.

Well, i dont know if i made myself clear.

Anybody thinks something like this also?

Yes, many of her songs make me think of a specific person or a time in my life. The visuals my mind supplies tend to be very personal.

For me, what makes her lyrics so incredible is that what she meant is only one layer, with so much depth left over for the listener to apply their own life experiences. She leaves a great deal of "room" inside her words.

You said what i wanted to say, but a lot better

It is easier when you writte in your own language.
