This is definitely the first of the two new ones she was still working on but tried to perform and asked for feedback in New York City - HERE concert in April last year. The other new one of that show is "As you are now" I think, that was mentioned in that review that Admin just posted from a newspaper. That's all I know. Looking forward to hearing them again in final version!

Suzanne sung this song at the Regatta Bar in Boston on 2/12. I had to brush up on my Edith Wharton history, but I think this song is about vanity. Edith's characters were all women of money and pedigree during the early 20th century and the woman "Olivia" is someone who died while having a routine chin tuck. I would really like to hear it again or at least see the lyrics.

By sheer chance I think I have the answer! I quote from Bill Bryson's book "Made in America" (p. 365), which says:

"Not unsurprisingly, sexual ignorance was appalling. ON the eve of her wedding, the futture novelist Edith Wharton asked her monther what could be expected of her in the bridal chamber. 'You've seen enough pictures and statues in your life,' her mother stammered. 'Haven't you noticed that men are made differently to women?' and with that closed the subject.

Bryson's refrence is the Observer, 14 November 1993, Books section, p. 20.....me suspects a popstar we know either reads Bryson or saved the original article?

    Cheers,

I got her new live album in Japan in the post yesterday and listened all day to this song on Edith Wharton Figurines I definetly think its about vanity back in ew time but also whats happening ??? thats how I see the song. Anyway its great.

    Your wish was her command!

Maybe someone in management can gather this and other songs into a subforum for B&C.

As it happens, I opened such a thread yesterday but it didn´t appear to want to integrate itself.

I think you can't. It's the webmaster that has to create a new category (you need admin rights to do that) where your new thread might take place... We'll have to wait. I guess a B&C category will be created when the album is on sale worldwide.
