The Chance - Poughkeepsie- Wed Aug 20

This was a show I had been looking forward to all summer. I had never played here before but had heard of the venue. David Bowie had played there the night before, but presumably he had more audience than we did. It was in a very run-down part of Poughkeepsie. It was so run-down we didn’t even get off the bus to use the dressing rooms, especially since we had an over-nighter that night to Martha’s Vineyard.

There was a guy dancing at first in the front of the stage, a circular dance with his arms. At first I couldn’t watch him because I thought I would forget my lyrics. Then he stopped dancing for most of the set only to return at the end.
