I wonder how many people have just heard her voice for the first time? I heard Suzanne first on the radio. I recognized that this mysterious singer was singing several of the songs that were often played. Then, when I heard Marlene On The Wall for the first time, I knew I had to hear more and discover who was the amazing voice I had heard sing these songs. I looked it up on Youtube and that's how it began for me.

here my answer to your question. It was the year 1985. Alessandro, a dear friend of mine, came one morning to my workshop; we talked a while, than he asked me if I heard a new songwriter called Suzanne Vega, I think he heard her on radio, an original one, something like this,he said, I don't remember exactly.He awaked my curiosity, so the same day or the one after I buyed "Suzanne Vega". It was "love at first (sight) hearing".Since than I follow her career, I wouldn't speak about " development" because I have this opinion: she has herself already everything, she only needs time to empty her artistic store. Of course she has new ideas from time to time, I know, it's only to say that, I think, she has a very strong personality that doesn't need to "develop". Her music goes with the facts of my life: 1985 I got to know my wife, 1989 (solitude standing) my son Ruben was born,1990 (days of open hand) my daughter Celeste was born and so on.....Cheers, Gianni.
