agreed, spikey. although sometimes feelings fall into the big space regardless of us and in spite of all our efforts. they just do. it's as if they gain a gravity of their own.

but that doesn't necessarily mean they are completely lost to us. my belief is that they return. of course they might return transformed, in one way or another. and, even if they seem lost forever, there is always something they leave behind, a sort of a trace, which we can pick up and follow truthfully as we go through the "avenues of angles".

Maybe they come out when you don't expect it. They may strike suddenly. Like lightning, or like when somebody you love hits you.

or when you hit somebody you love. yes, spikey, feelings may come out like that. in this song, suzanne refers to this when she writes: "beyond the duty and the discipline/i know there's anger in a cold place". but right after she says: "all feelings fall into the big space". and she emphasizes it later: "all feeling falls into the big space". she says: *all* feeling(s).

please don't tell me that the kind of feeling(s) you mention is/are the only one(s) you can see coming out of the "big space". and please don't tell me that is just what you feel is there in between the lines of this song.

    Hi all,

Thanks for hugs, yes, they fell into big space. But having a big space is a compliment. So I am here, being proud of having it at the moment and I am sure, Suzanne's songs are one of most important powers to let me have it. Before I started listening to these songs my space was much more narrow than now. And you all made it much bigger too, because you opened my eyes. Especially I would like to thank to Fatima.

As you can expect I was looking into all these three songs - "Big Space", "Rusted Pipe" and "Language" again.

I told you about "i" then I came across book about Buddhism and all my standpoint seemed to be a little bit shaken. It is still a long way before me, I think.

I can see weak relation between "Language" and "Big Space", sorry guys. In "Language" "we" means for me "you" and "me", when in "Big Space" means "we all", I can dig deeper - "we all writers". I am afraid, that both songs can be true now, because one is related to process of writing and the later to relationship when silence can say more then any words. That's true, language is sometimes not fast enough to express feelings here and now, but passion in it may move mountains. I see "Big Space" as a creed, creed of talented writer. What's more valuable, it is as if the answer to the first stanza when doubts about writing are presented in opinion of reader, it is as if the dialog. In opposition, "Rusted Pipe" express all doubts of writers from their own point of view. I am glad that Suzanne proves that there must be feeling in the pipeline between muscle and brain work ( in process of writing). It means for me, that it must be own perspective. Of course there is hard to find feeling in the big space and that is the same struggle in both songs.

    be well

    dear anna,

just wanted to say that i think your last paragraph is beautiful and that i absolutely agree with all that you wrote there. and, just like you, i feel that "having a big space is a compliment" and i too am proud of having made it richer through this discussion.

    much love,

    Hi Fatima,

No, that's not all I feel, I just named an example. Which was kind of relevant when I posted it. I broke up with my boyfriend only 4 weeks ago after having a relationship with him for 2 years, and he is already seeing somebody else. I felt stabbed and all those feelings I thought were gone suddenly came back and sort of overwhelmed me. I was like on this thread at the same time, so that's why that post was so weird.
