San Francisco, CA July 29 Tuesday

We did Tech TV this afternoon, which was so much fun!! I was on Screen Savers. I told them that I was having trouble getting my iSight to work, which was Glynn’s birthday present to me and Ruby. Oh, we can get him up and running here in the studio, Leo told me. We did and before you know it Glynn was a virtual guest on the show, sitting in the audience, and sitting with us in the middle of the interview on the computer. It was so cool!!

Spending lots of time by myself at this point. Getting used to it slowly. San Francisco is misty and cold which feels really good compared to the stultifying heat of everywhere else. Went shopping and bought beautiful dusty rose colored boots, which I wore onstage.

I have started putting black eyeliner pencil on the inside of my eyes which makes it spread out all around. I like the effect, it makes me feel cool and dangerous.

A great gig!! Hopping with energy. Everybody loves the Fillmore. Billy had never played there before and loved it. Even Timothy our backline guy said, “What a cool place, it has a real vibe!” and he is mostly into classical music. He is 24.

The audience was great. It was hot and I took off my jacket. At first I thought,” I can’t take off my jacket, I haven’t worked on my triceps...”, then I thought about the big picture of Jerry Garcia on the wall and I thought, Now there is a guy who didn’t care about his triceps and he was one of the greats.
