Don't think I've seen this mentioned elsewhere

Suzanne is down to play on Sunday 8 July 2007, followed by The Feeling and Blondie.  A few of us went for a day last year and really enjoyed it.

    Cheers

Thanks for the 'heads-up' Mike. Alas, their web site keeps giving me a "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" error page so I guess it's proving rather popular! Either that or the cheapskates need to spend a little more on their web hosting package!!

     Cheers,  Small Blue.

Keep trying. I´ve just managed to book tix on line for the weekend. There´s a good lineup (for me) on both days.

    Cheers

It's monday morning and I've finaly got onto their site -hmm, looks interesting. If I go it'd have to be Sunday only due to it being a very busy time of the year for me but it does look tempting....

    Cheers, Small Blue Geoff

Dear Mike and Geoff,How can you not attend? Blondie and Suzanne at the same venue!  It's a must.  I've always liked The Waterboys, too (from the gig prior to SV's).  Sounds like an interesting place....So happy to see folks from the 'old Tow' coming to life again.  It feels good, doesn't it?Love you both—Catherine

What's the festival like? i.e. is it fairly civilised and small... I can't be doing with muddy fields and drunken yobs.

Nicole are there going to be any other dates? i.e. nice indoor, sitdown gigs.

    Hiya!

Well it might be a "must" but, alas, there is another "must" happening on that weekend. It's the British start and first leg (to Canterbury) of the Tour de France 2007. So I'll be up in London watching men in Lycra with the rest of my extended family.

When it comes to it being a welcome sight to see "folks from the "old Tow' coming to life again" well what can I say? As you well know, my old friend, 'real life' has been intruding in my peaceful little world so all my attention has been else where. But my eye is back on the 'Tow again, all be it not quite as much as I don't have so much free time anymore, so watch out! Wink

    Cheers,
    Small Blue Geoff.

Thanks for the UK date about Suzanne.  Sadly I can't afford to go.

Sounds like a good gig.  I wonder if there'll be any chance of a discount for watching David (yawn) Gray on the Saturday.

    Quiz:

Q1: which of Suzanne's drummers performed on the Waterboy's 'This is The Sea' in 1986?  (No need to answer that.)

Q2: I wonder if Ms Vega will be playing at Hyde Park calling again this year, on 23rd June (Peter Gabriel) or 24th June (Aerosmith).  http://www.hydeparkcalling.co.uk/home

Q3: I wonder if Ms Vega will be playing the Isle-of-Wight Festival on 8-10 June, which had already sold out before the Rolling Stones were announced as headliners last week.  The venerable Mr Giddings was on our local TV news looking dead chuffed about it.  Well, as chuffed as a promoter can be.  http://www.isleofwightfestival.com

Thank you for the advice, we'd all better watch out!! Believe me, nowhere is safe. You can just innocently be walking along a tube station platform and be confronted by Geoff!!

Although, it sounds like the Cornbury festival will be safe though. Sounds like a grand day out too.

I guess Suze tours in June/July are becoming predictable now but I could really do with it being a different month this year. On 23rd June I'll be at Hyde Park for Peter Gabriel so that would be great (though not if Suze plays the Sunday as I'll be on my way home!) The weekend before Oxford I'm in Germany to see Anna Maria Jopek, then on to France for Laurie Anderson. The night before Oxford I'll be in Manchester watching Genesis and the week after I'm off to Rome. The odds of me not making any of the UK dates (for the first time in 21 years) are worryingly low :-(

    Dear Mike,

Were you shilly shallying, wondering if you should play 'dress up' as we did in Salisbury?  Wink

Glad to see that you and Claire got tickets for this, but I'm counting on you to pelt Small Blue with leftover blue beans should you run across him anywhere in your travels. You know he deserves more than I got him with—I bequeath Janny's and my powers to you—I know she'd agree in a flash!

BTW: where are you, Janny?  Resurface please, or do I have to climb the Cliffs of Dover trying to find you?

    Big Hug—Catherine  Kiss

    * Dare I ask if you've gotten mail (from me) from the Yahoo addy? Haven't heard from you in a while, but you could be mucking around in a field somewhere!
