NYC VENUE CHANGE

Suzanne’s November 29 show at the Town Hall has moved to the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center. The date and time of the show remain the same. All tickets will be honoured at the new venue and we promise to do our best to match your seats. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail us at tickets@SuzanneVega.com.

Hi. It sounds like the seating arrangements will be sorted out the day of the show, as opposed to having Ticketmaster issue new tickets to us. It would be good if you could let us know what time doors will open and encourage people to show up early in order to minimize the chaos around showtime.

It took some effort to get my good seats at the Town Hall. How will I be assured similar seats at the new location? I'll be pissed if there is a mess and I get seated further back.

How are the seats being reworked? The seating is very different. If, oh, say, for example, my Town Hall seats were orchestra row G seats 112 & 114, what would they be at the Manhattan Center? I would hope I'd be facing Suzanne throughout the show, not more than 7 rows back, and not far off to a side. I don't want to be difficult, but would this be a correct assumption? I know this must all be grief for you as well. The more folks know in advance though, the happier they'll likely be.

It looks like the Borders in NYC are doing a giveaway for a pair of tickets, a framed autographed poster, and a vinyl copy of the album.  I entered at the Wall St. store at the info desk!

Ticketmaster/Live Nation is doing a lousy job of letting people know about the venue change; I found out purely by accident. I'm concerned about where I'm going to end up sitting in this venue; I was looking forward to seeing SV at Town Hall though I realize the venue change is totally out of her control.  I really hope information will be forthcoming about seating arrangements.

There's a great double-exposure of Suzanne for this show in the current New Yorker.  Much beauty, no crime, wish I could go.

I just found out by accident that the venue changed. Very poor planning on  everyone's part.  What was the reason for the change????

I followed through Ticketmaster as if I were purchasing tix for the show, just to see if hey offered seat numbers. THEY DO NOT, which means that there will be no specific seat assignments. The only purchasing options are floor and balcony, i.e. general seating in either of the two locations offered. THIS IS NOT 'MATCHING SEATS.' More upsetting, if I choose to get a refund, I will lose the surcharge and postage fees regardless. WHY? I didn't change the venue; Ticketmaster did, so they should refund the entire cost and absorb the losses. This is such bullsh** Basically, for every person who wants a refund, Ticketmaster still makes $10.

I also found out about the venue change by chance (on this website) -- although ticketmaster sends me spam emails every week (so I know they know my email), they don't bother telling me about this. There is also no note of the change on their website. Finally, the original time was 8pm, but on the Manhattan Center Studios site it says 7pm... Does noone care about this mess? This is really disappointing...

Manhattan Center doesn't actually have seats.  The floor is flat and not angled up to the back of the hall like in regular venues.  All the seats will be rented chairs of some sort.  I'll be there and I'm not looking forward to it.  Have fun all.

Wow what a great show in Ridgefield.  The Queen and the Soldier to wrap it up.  My favorite song Gypsy smack in the middle of it.  And everything new and old in between.  Great venue, great vibe, great band.  Been a fan since the 80s and will be through my 80s.  Enjoy NYC everyone.

Suzanne Vega gave a great show in Singapore at the Esplanade Theatre on saturday Jan 19, 2008. Before the show started I told my friend I hoped she'd sing Gypsy and Small Blue Thing. She did Gypsy in the third (?) song, and Small Blue thing as one of her encore. LUCKY ME! I thought she sounded better live, her voice was warm and intimate. She told funny stories about some of the songs (I'll never be your Maggie May was actually inspired by Rod Stewart's Maggie May, she wanted to tell the story from the perspective of the woman whose lines was cruelly showing in the sunlight, post coital)
Suzanne was good enough to do an autograph session after the concert. She looked great, with a glass of white wine on the table, which she didnt touch.
Photos from the session.

Saw Suzanne in London in October with a great band.  Gypsy is still my favourite, which she sang.  Her voice was in great form as ever - it doesn't seem to change with age, which is good! Loved her tour "costume" of off-the-shoulder black raincoat and trilby hat.  Her stories to the audience were as intimate as ever, especially the ongoing one of "mystery man" of Gypsy fame.  Good to see her musical director with her - the music is mostly Suzanne's but I guess owes something to the input from her musical team.  Keep it up Suzanne... look forward to seeing you next time you're in the UK.
